Sounds fun right? I am leaving sunday and coming back tuesday and for the first time in my life I don't want to go, my boss chartered a boat out of San Diego to invite the whole company for doing a good job which is great but a week or so ago he decided to only invite a couple guys from work and the rest his friends after telling the guys they were going. I still have to go since I run the company for him but I don't agree with what he did, he is not going to tell the guys that are now not going anything he is just gonna go. I let them know and it was not a big deal since they don't really fish anyway(or like the boss) but now I am stuck with the kind of fisherman that are all about the most expensive gear and that my $100 dollar rod wont catch the fish their thousand dollar rod will. It gets real old real quick I guess I will be drinking alot on the boat. That is all just had to get it off my chest, I will let you all know how it goes next week.

Good luck Chris. I know what you're talking about (have experienced it myself on occcasion). I have always looked at it from a price per pound at the end of the day. If we each catch about the same amount of fish (in weight) as one another (and I think statistically speaking, you will), not only are they paying likely ridiculous prices for tackle, but the cost of the fish will be higher to them as well. I guess for some, the bottom line has no meaning. For me, it is an important part of the decision. Fishing included. (yeah, I know, there will be those who say you can not measure the joy of a wet line, the singing of a spool running out etc. I enjoy all that as much as anyone, but I am not going to ignore the cost of getting there IMHO.)

Enjoy the trip.

I am not too worried about the job as I have my own contractors license and have ben working on going on my own anyway so you never know it might just be the push I need to get away. BTW I just got to the office this morning and I was telling him about my dads olds Penn reels I was gonna let another guy use and he said don't bother because they are junk.
