2-cycle oil question?

My motor is a 2000 model 90 HP Mercury (Classic)

Here's my question. I have nearly a gallon of Evinrude 2-cycle oil that's probably 4 years old. It has been in my garage so it has not been in the elements. It says that it is TC-W3 certified. Would this be OK to use in my Mercury? If it would not be safe, or if there is even a doubt, I will not use it. I appreciate any input.

Todd

That will be fine. Oil doesn't go bad for a very long time.

Go for it, not a problem! Just dont tell it you are putting it in a Mercury.

Use it up then try a synthetic or synth. blend and see if you like the improvements.

Well Lubbie, You got me there! I used to be skeptical but I made the switch to full synth. The smoother idle and GREATLY reduced smoke made a believer outta me!
