Everyone. This is a really long-shot.
I have a 1987 OMC Sea-drive 2.7L. Runs like a top.
Ahh. But trouble in paradise. The hydraulics manifold has a leak -- a check valve or something similar.
I'm trying to take off the Tilt+Trim manifold. This is in GREEN.
I managed to sheer two bolts -- the two bolts in the item #7. Both top items.. Marked with a the dark red line.. I did drill the little guys out--and feel I should be able to pull the manifold off. But no dice.
I'm pulling and prodding like crazy.
I have the shop manual, but NOT FOR THIS YEAR. So, the design changed. I'm at a loss--should the manifold (green) easily be pulled from the pump housing (in Red)????
1. Is there a special technique to removing this manifold? do I need to drill further to loosen those two sheered bolts?
2. If necessary, anyone know a source for a replacement manifold? (green)
Thank you!
