Hello, I am new here. I am also a new inboard boat owner. I need help. I have a 1990 Four Winns with a Cobra 2.3L. Are the parts interchangable with Ford 2.3L engines? Is it possible to swap out the Cobra engine out for a Mercruiser or GM unit?

Well yes and no.......some of the parts are interchangeable. If you mean swap the engine (only) to GM, maybe.....
You can swap out to a GM engine (that's all Mercruiser uses now) But you would need all the other external components (starter, alt-mounting brackets, PS-pump if installed, manifolds, flywheel housing, etc) If it's to a GM (like a 3.0L) you might need to change the drive (drive ratio)
If you mean swap out the complete package, absolutely, but you would need to find a complete package (like from another boat) Buying every component would likely cost you more that boat could ever be worth.
You might be a little more specific on what the problem actually is. Also, you might post the actual model number of the engine drive combination.
