Hi All,
What type of boat would you guys recommend for a fisherman (Decent) but also want to use the same boat to bring the family to the lakes for a stroll?
I am aware that some fishing boats can be had with a total of 4-5 seats.

Is right now a good time to purchase any remaining 2020 models or should I wait until spring?

Thank you kindly,

There are fish and ski. You can get just about any configuration your bank account will tolerate. The best time to purchase here in Ontario is about a month and a half back. Right now all the boats are winterized but if your buying new you would be ok... so there, I bet I told you nothing you did not already know but thought I would respond and welcome you aboard and maybe the next poster will give you some useful information.

Not sure if there are any 2020 models left.------The supply of good used boats is low at this time.----Everybody seems to want to go boating.----Folks are not spending thousands to go to Blue Jays games and Leaf games.-----They have used that money to go fishing.------New prices will shock you.----Spring prices might be even higher.

What type of water are we talkin' 'bout? Big lakes, rivers, small lakes? Where your boating drives as much of the suggestions. There's really no such thing as boat that does everything, so you'll have to know where you want to compromise.

Have you tried renting something and seeing what you like and don't like about it?

Welcome aboard.

Hi.

Mostly lakes in cottage country of Ontario; Haliburton, Muskoka and Kawartha Lakes. It probably would be rare that venture into the Great Lakes.

Thanks .

I’m on some websites like Kijiji and some list decent starter boats for 12-17k...

If a motor is well kept, how long can it last? I’ve seen some boats with the white colour Johnson cover... if I recall that is atleast 20 years old?

They used " white covers " in 1966 and many other years.-----With pictures many folks can pinpoint the year of these motors.

My boat is around 18 years old. My last one - still in use - is over 45.

Any reason a pontoon doesn't fit the bill?
