Hello, I struggled to drop the lower unit then found this. Looks like someone had used 4200 or some other sealant.

Schematics show a long water tube with a bend in it, its hard to tell if the break is at the seal (where the sealant was) or farther inside making it possibly unreachable.

Does replacing a water tube mean that I have to go into a whole other upper casing of the OB. This is my 1st attempt doing any kind of lower-end work.

Any information on this is greatly appreciated / THX

Maybe previous owner had a split, hole or crack in the tube and patched it with 5200 or similar sealant?......JB Weld might have worked better?.....

I am fairly sure the power head will have to come off, but do not depend on what I say, look to see what the service manual tells you

I removed the seal where the water tube was inserted. Once out I could see a smaller diameter tube, I tugged on it with long needle nose and it was firm. Does anyone know if the schematic pictures differ from the actual part? Im at the point of having to eat this motor and re power, not sure if I have the confidence/ tools to get into the power head.

It appears that a jury rig was made on this engine. Should be one solid tube from adapter housing to water pump. Apparently something broke of leaked thus requiring the former owner to do this. To replace the tube the powerhead had to be removed.

One more concern. Here is a pic of the water tube it calls for...

As you can see, there is 2 inches of tube before the curve(assuming that is where it feeds into the water pump) but the small piece of old water tube when removed is 4 inches long.

I double checked the model TXRS130. rrrrr this motor is owning me

Look up water pump parts to see if they used some sort of extension out of housing.

Maybe someone put a lower unit on it that was not an exact match. Who knows for sure what is going on
