1999 Honda BF50 No Spark

I have a 1999 Honda BF50 that while running fine the other day cut off on me and would not restart, long story short, I have tested the CDI unit and not getting fire to the spark plugs, Before I dish out $450.00 for a new CDI unit I wanted to ask to see if it could be anything else ( hopefully cheaper). the starter turns over but no fire.

Check the kill switch circuit.

I'm wondering how you checked your CDI/what you did? Did you find a troubleshooting guide and follow that?
