My boat wonn't start,I towed to local JohnMarine for service, they said ECU was out, sent to rebuilt cost me $900.00 plus $200.00 shipping and labor.
One trip out less than 8mls boat died on me again,I towed it back to John Marine they said ECU was out again, sent out under waranty(1 year),of course I have topay $150.00 for shipping and labor.
Another trip out less than 10 mls, boat died on me again with the same problem.ECU send out 3rd time.
Is any one out there know what's going on ? Is it fixable? I've got about 530 hrs on the motor.
Tech. told me to replace new motor, wich cost 17k plus shipping and labor.I am confuse and can't afford that.
Pls email me direct : circlek8544@sbcglobal.net

One thing to check is the grounding wires for good secure contact with no corrosion in the the threads and a star-type lockwasher. A poor or intermittent ground circuit can damage an ECU very quickly. Chances are something in the enigne circuitry is the culprit that "kills" the ECU.

What error codes were stored in the ECU?

And I'd look for a Marina that doesn't change the same part 3 times without tracing the root cause.:confused::facepalm:
