It will tow it. Drive carefully

IF you have the factory tow package, that van is rated to tow 3500 lbs. I am sure it's only rated at 1000 lbs without the factory tow package.

My wife has a Venture. I've used it a few times to tow my rig which is a 17' Sea Nymph aluminum with an 85hp, probably slightly heavier than your rig. It tows it just fine. I dont have the towing package, but I did put a trans cooler on it for long trips. I usually tow my boat with my Grand Cherokee 4.0, however, I swear the minivan seems like it has more towing power. It will handle your boat with no problem.

Where did you guys find a hitch for it? I have a 99 Montana (Same creature) and we can't get a hitch. I wanted one to pull our pop up but have since sold it. It would still be nice to have to maybe pull the go cart or lawn mower around. I could even use it to move the empty trailers around. Our van has plenty of power, its the "car" brakes on it that I worry about. I like to have plenty of assurance when its time to whoa.

Thanks Gary. We went to several RV dealers, the local GM dealership, and a ouple of truck accerory shops and none could come up with anything. I am a compitant(sp?) welder but was worried about the resale. That place is pretty cool.

Just looked at the first hitch they offer. The van they show pictured is the same color as mine, they need to put a dent in the backdoor though. :)

Your van will tow this boat just fine. I have a 2003 chevy venture without the towing package and tow my 3000 pound wellcraft. I did install a heavy duty tranny cooler and a class III hitch. I also put on surge brakes. i recomend that you tow in 3rd gear for normal driving. At first I was worried about it slipping at the launch but i have had no problem. You would be suprised how this van handles a large load.
