Hi guys,

Have 200 ox66 with a shutdown problem at full throttle. Will run all day great but when you go full throttle up to 5300 rpm after about 20 seconds the motor will just shut down. It starts right up and will run great. Any Ideas?

Thanks

I got a good idea.
fix your fuel system, preferably before you smoke a piston.
EFI when it runs lean shuts down rather abruptly, unlike a carb set up.
I would start with a VST filter cleaning and a fuel system vacum check.

Re: 1999 200 ox66 saltwater series

Thanks again Rodbolt. I pulled the VST and cleanned the filters and they were full of junk. I replaced both fuel lines as both of them were brittle at the connection. Put everything back together and it ran very smooth and accelerated great. However at full throttle after about 20 seconds it cuts out again. Checked the primer bulb and it was collapsed. Suggestions?

Thanks

From your other post I need to do a vaccum test and I will need to find a gauge or if you have any other suggestion... by the way I did replace the primer bulb... and it is installed correctly... new filters, new water seperator just had 100hr service by dealer. Replaced fuel sending unit and noticed the fuel line comming from the tank looks pretty bad.. no leaks but I am afraid to touch it. Think maybe the pick-up is dirty and will probably clean/replace and replace fuel line to separator.

Was just thinking that when I took off the VST there was no pressure that I had to release when disconnecting... should there have been any release of pressure?

bulb collapsed?
that indicates a restriction between the bulb and the liquid level in the tnk not a bulb issue.
carefully check all connections/lines between the bulb and the tank including the antisiphon valve.
also be aware that most fuel draw tubes in the tank have a screen that can clog, if yours still has one eliminate it.

Re: 1999 200 ox66 saltwater series

Thanks Rodbolt.. after I posted the last thread I went out and pulled the tank fitting and fuel pick up tube out of the tank and cleaned both and re-did the connections on the fuel tank and the water seperator. The check valve on the barbed fitting on the tank seamed ok so the only thing left will be the vent line. It has a attwood anti-siphon tank vent which I have never seen before... and do not know if it could cause a restriction?

Thanks

Found the problem! was the anti-siphon valve at the tank.. replaced and all is well.
