1999 150 merc... hours to overhaul??

May be buying a 1999 150HP merc with 250 hrs.<br />How many hours is a lot or how many hours will it normally be before a overhaul may be expected? Is a 2000 150HP merc same as 1999's? These motors are from boat rental companies in Arkansas.

General rule is at 850 hours you look hard at the mechanical side of this engine. Any thing after 1200 is a bonus.
