I got a 1999 125ELPTO serial no. 0G911197 from an insurance claim. it had hit a reef and damaged the gearcase and trim unit. I got those replaced and took it out for a ride, it ran great but the tach didn't work. so I replaced the voltage regulator. the tach worked for a few minutes then stopped again. then that 3/4 throttle the motor quit like it was shut off. it starter right up again but would only go about 1/2 speed. I was told I needed a new stator and voltage regulator. got both off those replaced. I started it up, everything ran good...shut it off...started it again and the tach didn't work, went for a ride and the motor quit again...started up again and putted to the landing. any ideas what I need to look at next?
