I've had this boat since the beginning of last summer and rarely does it hit the recommended 5200 rpm's until the other day when i was trolling. The motor felt like it was loading up on me so I pulled my lines and took it for a run at WOT. This is the only time that this motor has taken off so strong and made it up to the 5200 mark. Other than carbon build up in the past the motor seemed to run fine. Still seems to run good but now I know what it is capable of. Any suggestions on what this is or is it a fluke? Thanks guys.

P.S. Other than air temp., all conditions are/were the same. Same buddy, tackle, full livewell, same prop. ect. This motor any other time will do 5000 rpm's at 50 mph consistantly.

Weather can have a lot to do with it. They like cool temps, but not cold. They'll have more power at 50 degrees than at 80.

What I am saying is that before I trolled, the motor ran as usual, 5000 at 50mph. Then later it ran 5200 at 52 mph. And all this was after it felt like the motor was loading up after trolling for about 30 minutes. Starting to think it was a fluke. Any Takers?
