So i have a 1998 Yamaha GP760 I just purchased a month ago. I bought it with 125PSI on both cylinders.
I got a good 25 Hours on the machine and it flies at about 45MPH no problem.
I went and turned off the watercraft to talk to friends for a few minutes and it refused to start back up.
I checked my spark and everything, had an orange spark which was weak so i replaced the coil and CDI. I have a bright blue good spark now.
However, the unit refuses to start still. And now my compression test is saying 40PSI on both cylinders.
How would my compression fall this low so soon? Would Bad reed valves cause this? A possible bad waterbox? What would cause low compression other than piston and rings?
Any help is greatly appreciated, this is so frustrating
I don't understand what would cause the sudden low compression
