I JUST PURCHASED A 1998 YAMAHA EXCITER 135. I AM HAVING TROUBLE GETTING IT TO RUN.
**IF I TRY AND START THE BOAT IT WILL JUST CRANK OVER AND NOT FIRE.
**IF I TAKE OFF THE CARB COVER AND SPRAY SOME CARB CLEANER IN THE THROATS IT WILL START AND RUN FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS AND THEN STALL OUT. IF I CONTINUE TO SPRAY THE CLEANER, THE ENGINE CONTINUES TO RUN
** I TOOK THE FUEL FILTER OFF AND IT WAS FULL OF FUEL AND CLEAN OF DEBRIS. SO IT WAS NOT THAT
** WHEN I PUT THE FILTER BACK ON AND STARTED THE ENGINE AGAIN WITH THE CARB CLEANER THE FUEL FILTER FILLED BACK UP WITH FUEL. SO I GUESS WHAT EVER PUMPS THE FUEL IS WORKING CORRECTLY..
** ANY IDEAS:confused:???

CHECK COMPRESSION FIRST...If you have access to a guage, get it,check the cylinders and post back the results. If your not familar with what your doing ,it take it somewhere reputible...Are the plugs wet after cranking???
Stop using starter fluid if thats what your using. You will destroy the motor....
