1998 Suzuki 225 EFI

I am considering purchasing a used 1998 Suzuki 225 EFI. What are the good/ bad or pros/cons about this motor.<br /><br />Thanks

I know a couple of guys with the newer models that have been having problems. They've had pistons fail.

I have a 1997 150 EFI and so far it's been a great engine but I have low hours on it. EFI is vey fuel efficient and the only draw back so far was a spotty dealer service network but that is getting better in my area since several semi-local dealers now carry the Suzuki 4 stroke and I can order parts from them. Also, internet orders can be placed with Browns Point Marine and they have a great parts department. Srvice is the only bug issue with the earlier models since even the 4 stroke mechanics here haven't had a lot of experience on the 2 strokes.

Forgot to add that I also own an 02 model DT150 and has been really good to me. Only major problem I ever had was the CDI went out but it was under warranty. That happened about 3 months ago.
