hello, I'm new to this forum, so forgive me for the basic questions.

Two things, we are looking into buying our first boat and found a 1998 Larson LXI 226. Two questions: 1) anybody have any input as to whether this is a good starter boat? we are a family of four (kids 9 & 7 yo) we like to ski/wakeboard, etc. 2) can a Honda Odyssey pull this boat? The specs say that the weight is 2975, does that include the trailer? From my research, 3200 is about max we can pull.

any comments are appreciated!

I know the larson is to BIG for the honda

I think you will limited to boats at 18' or less with that honda

My 19' is in the 3800# range

The 2975 weight is probably dry weight. Thrown in gas, tubes, boards, cooler, and everything else you will more than likely be over the 3200 mark. My '01 Olds Bravada with a 5000# tow rating really strained to pull my 17.5' boat (2300#). A few weeks ago I picked up a cheap 3/4 ton Ford van. It handles the boat with no problem. :)

i tow a boat that size with a surburban. i'd never try it with an Odyssey. i won't do it with a Ridgeline either.
