Hi, first time post. I have replaced my powerhead with a refurbished one and now I get a really bad water leak under the powerhead. No water in cowling at all just under powerhead. I have replaced the powerhead gasket like 5 times with OEM. It pees just fine just maybe a little weak. I'm thinking that there might be something else causing the leak. I have taken this to a shop and they couldn't fix it they told me just to run it like that but it really pours out of there and I would like to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Either wrong base gasket or water forced up driveshaft due to seal/seals missing/damaged. Also could be incorrect powerhead from a early 70's series as these are the only ways water can escape the mount area

may as well remove the PH and confirm base gasket matches the base config.

check sealing on the water tube from the impeller maybe ??

was the refurbished ph the same year. ??

for ex. on the older mid 50s late 50s ob like the 5.5- 7.5 base gaskets configs varied between years !
