I have just purchased a fishing unit with a 1998 (I Think)60 HP Johnson Mod# G04093298, Ser.# J60TTLEDR.<br />1)It has oil injection. It starts fine, shakes a bit at idle or slightly higher trolling speed and lays down a fairly noticeable smoke screen. Once it "clears it's throat", it runs great at higher speeds no smoke noticeable. (Almost like a "miss" when you first pour the gas to it). Will winterizing (stabaliser in the fuel) cause this. I haven't run the whole tank through it yet. I have topped up the tank with premium fuel, can that hurt??<br />I have run the motor about 3-4 hours and the oil tank has gone down about 3/8". So I'm sure the oil injection is working.<br />2) It has (I think) a Quick Start feature that is supposed to automatically run the motor at higher than idle speed for a few seconds on startup.I have not noiced this feature. How can I confirm this is a feature because I have been starting it at the neutral position on my controller which equates to idle speed. (Takes three or four bumps to start)<br />Any help would be appreciated.
