Hi Guys,

I want to replace the gaskets and impeller on my 1998 Force 120 but the boat shop only has the full water pump kit which is like $350.

I just want new gaskets, and an impeller.

Does anyone know the part #'s for the gaskets and impeller?
I can't find a kit with just that in it.

I think it might be the 43026t2 impeller kit? But does that have all the gaskets I need?

Gaskets can be made.

Go on... :p

I believe this is the kit I need. I assume the kit is for multiple motors though.

I believe I need:

#34 (Impeller) New Part: 43026T2
#28 (Gasket) New Part #: 27-8172771
#24 (Gear Housing Gasket): Part #: 430331
#25 (Gearcase Gasket): Part #: 430472

I've never done the impeller replacement before so please someone tell me if I'm wrong and should get the entire kit or if I'm missing any parts that I need to replace.

The kit also includes a gasket part # 8M0050720 which I don't see I would need in my diagram?

Is there a way to order these parts cheaper separate?

Some will argue-----Usually the impeller is all you need.

Yeah, the problem is there was a bit of water in my lower unit oil. Picture below:

So I was thinking the gaskets @ the water pump might be bad.

IF??? you have water in the oil, you need to do a pressure test to find the weak link.
Then fix that, then replace the impeller.
Your pump has a stainless cup and wear plate and usually the impeller is all that's needed.

As racerone and jerryjerry says.
Only change the impeller.
If you are careful when disassemble the housing you can reuse the gaskets and maybe put some liquide gasket such as Permatex Form a gasket No. 3 to the gaskets.

What's the best way to pressure test it at home?

Drain gearcase.----Take gearcase to a cold place.-----EG--Cool it down with pack of ice cubes.-----Install drain / fill plugs.----Put it in the hot sun for an hour.----Loosen the drain plug.----You should hear a puff of air escaping.
