1998 ebbtide 4.3 timing procedure

I put a shortblock in the boat and it fired right up thanks to the help on this site.Puurs like a kitten.Is there a procedure to set base timing on these engines?Pull a spout or disconnect a wire?Thanks for the help,Junior

Not enough information Junior.
OMC, Volvo, Mercruiser, EFI, Carbed.
Model and serial numbers would be a big help. The year of your boat may not be the year of your engine and drive setup.

its a 1998 ebbtide campion with a 1997 shortblock.the shortblocks were identical.
