I have a 1998 760xl waverunner that is having problems starting. I am kind of a new to working on these but have been pretty successful with lawnmowers and other brands of personal watercraft. The issues are as follows: If the jet ski sits for a day or two it acts like it isn't getting any gas as well as the instrument panel does not come on. However if I put fuel in the carb throats the instrument panel lites up and the jet ski starts. it will idle fine but as soon as you try and excelerate it will dye unless you pump the throttle fast. I am replacing the needle in the carb because I can not tell if it is seating all the way and am thinking that it is not letting in gas properly. I have also checked the main jets and the high and low jets on the outside and they seem to be clear. I have also soaked the carb in a paint can size carb cleaner. this is the second time I have had the carb off but the last time all i did it take out the float and needle to make sure there wasn't anything in the carb. Also the person i bought the jet ski from did not have a oil injector on the jet ski so I bought a new one including the oilcheck valves. My thought was that maybe they were not mixing the gas right and these would fix problem. If you have any answers i would appreciate it because I am about to give up since the mechanics at the local dealers say there is nothing wrong with it.
