Taking a toon that I got last year to shop in the morning. The check engine and alarm horn went off last time I had it at the lake, only the third time I used the boat.I could not find anything wrong, and no $$$ to have checked by Tech at the time so it got parked till now. Tax refund time!!!
I know it has never been serviced and wonder what I may fixing to pay. I figure it will need at least:
Lower unit oil changed
Impeller
Plugs
Oil and oil filter
And this does not count on what Tech finds when he plugs up to computer.
Any body got an idea?
Thanks
Michael

What code did the light blink when it went off, Michael? It may simply be demanding an oil and filter change or it may be asking for an impeller change (overheat).

Do you have the Owner's Manual or a Service Manual?

Four strokes are far less tolerant of neglect than 2 strokes, but that Suzuki-made Evinrude is a wonderful engine when well cared for.

EIGHT!

Good luck, and. . .

I do not know about the code JB. I do not have either manual at this time, but will have one soon. I just got back home from shop and they will call me when they check it out. They are realy busy and will not get to it until next week.
When the alarms went off the oil pressure gauge and the temp. gauge were in the normal range. I am hoping that it is only a warning to service engine, like the warning on a lot of cars.
Thanks for the input.
I will let all know what I find out.
Michael
