does anyone know where to buy stock 1998 120hp force/mercury reeds? all i'm finding is reed blocks, my blocks are fine, i just need 16 new reeds for the 120hp. i've looked high and low on the net for the reed p# but just can't find anything other than the reed block(p#855952T). i'd appreciate any help, getting frustrated:mad:

so far i've ran this boat for 30 minutes since buyin it, and so far i've replaced a bad coil, ruptured diagphrams in the pump, a cracked exhaust plate and now i'm replacing all the reeds(only 1 was bad, and i found it in the block) i wanna change out all 16 just for peace of mind, but i don't wanna have to buy 4 blocks at a 100 a piece to do it:rolleyes:

Funny, they don't seem to be available separately anymore.

Here's what I found by looking up parts for an early-90's 120:

Reed Plate Assembly 818108A1 NLA; replaced by 11645 Reed Plate Assy which supercedes to 855952T which is the $121 part you're looking at.

However, for the older motors, the reeds are listed separately:

34-F530160 --REED (5 PETAL)

Hard to tell from the diagram I was looking at, but it appeared that the later-style reed blocks have 4 petals not 5. If you have 5-petal reed blocks, these might work. Probably not if yours are indeed built with 4 petals.

Here's some info on aftermarket "performance" reeds which may be a better option:

Another possibility might be to see if you can find a reed block assy from a parts motor; check on ebay, you never know what you'll stumble across.

well here is what I figured out. Buy new cause the one broke becuse it was wore out and buying a used one is just setting your self up for more money out of pocket. But hey thanks for the tips on where to buy them cheaper then I was getting them for.
