The first thing you need to know is that WaveRaiders are not boats. They are Personal WaterCraft.

Moving to the PWC Forum.

I am well aware of that, but this was for repair and maintenance, and i wasn't looking for things on repair and maintenance so i put it under the one that said non-engine related issues...i didn't see one for PWC other then under repair and maintenance.

They are good rides, I have a 94 701 and it will run in the mid 50's. 2 up the craft gets tippy, and with one you better be hanging on because they can get wild in turns. It looks like that with a trailer a good shape / running raider goes for $1500 - $2500,

Depends

the early purple hulls are the lightest hulls
the 95-96s were heavier.
the engine choices range from 701-760-1100
I had a 1100. personally I would purchase one thats stock or pretty close to stock. Check compression. on a 2 cyl the compression should be 150-160 or so and 3 cyl about 125. Thats just a approximate #. the 2 cylinder 701-760 tend to take out the rear cylinder 9 usually due to a carb lean out problem)
I had my 1100 for about 87-8 years and it was completely reliable. I modified mine but I know how to work on them. yamahas are very reliable as long as you leave them stock or if you mod them you do the right mods not jsut throw parts at it to make it faster.
the Raiders ARE a HANDFUl in rough water but you can tame them a lot of you do the right handling mods, but they can still throw you. the 1100 raiders stock did 58-59 the 760 were abotu 54 MPH skis and the 701 were 48-50 MPH skis. Dont believe the speedo its pretty inaccurate. I had mine modded and radared at 64 MPH which doesnt sound fast but on that hull it takes concentration. If I were you I woudl look for a Waveventure 1100. Lots of power and way more comfortable in both ride and cargo. Raiders dont have almost any cargo area except under the seat there is a small compartament and you can get side saddle bags.
Good skis but even though i LOVED my raider there are better choices out there
Rob

I dont understand your problem. does it run on two cylinders than the #3 starts working? start off slow and explain the problem.
give me some info. what is the compression on all 3 cylinders, what is the color of the plugs, when you say it starts to go what does that mean?
If you want you can email me ss454454@socal.rr.com or PM me
