My boat had not been cranked all winter. When I try to crank it the alarm sounds imediatly and will not allow it to start. I checked the low oil sensor in the tank I dont think it was that sensor because it made a different sound when I forced it to indicate low oil. Is this alarm designed to keep it from cranking? What do you think is my trouble.

This forum is great!!!

You will all laugh at me, but the following was happening... after a great 4th of July on the water, we were cleaning the boat. when we tried to flush the engine, we couldn't get the engine started and the alarm sounded continuously upon turning the key to the "on" position.

I have been scouring the internet to see if I could get some infomation on this problem. I came upon this site, did some searches, and lo and behold, I found the reason for my predicament..... while cleaning the boat, we detached the man overboard cord... duuuuuuuhhhh... anyways, I had to share this story with everyone. Start simple and work your way up.
