I just got this ski yesterday from a guy that said the carbs need cleaned out.I regestered it today and took it out to see what it would do.It started up great took off and about 400 yards it just quits. So I sit there about 4-5 minutes and it starts right up again so I take off and another 400 yards it quits,And everytime after the 400 yards it has to sit the 5 min.becouse it just clicks.I did this about 10 times. The old owner just put in a brand new battery 3 weeks ago and it is new,After my 10 times back and forth the new battery is dead.So one thing I know it is not charging,Will this do what proble I am having?

I just got a 1996 Wave Venture 1100 from a guy who said it had carb problems. It had a dead battery but I put another one on it and it fired right up. I was on the trailer so I killed it after like 5 seconds. A few minutes later I hit the starter again and it fired right up so I took it to the ramp and it fired right up and died then wouldnt start again. The next day it didnt want to start but finally did, I was on the trailer and killed it after like 5 seconds then I heard something and looked down by the impeller and it was pouring oil out??? Idk why yet. But once it gets fixed I'm going to fill it up with gas and put the required amount of B-12 in it and try to get it to run long enough to burn a tank and see if that help's. So you may try B-12.

Your jet ski probably is charging the battery. You can not restart these skis multiple times without draining the battery on them, they are small batteries and your jet ski is more of a low amp charger. I would not take it out to run it anymore without taking the carbs off and looking at them and replacing fuel lines. It sounds like you have a fuel line issue, bad fuel lines slow the flow of gas, which is why your ski runs and then stops, the fuel can not keep up. If the carbs are slightly dirty you can clog a jet and lean out the cyclinder and then your jet skiing days are over until you rebuild her. Hopefully it is not too late, cold starts and a cloged jet only take seconds to ruin a cyclinder.

best bet is to rebuilt the carbs (the carb cleaner "mechanic in a can" crap doesn't work), change fuel lines, clean out or replace the fuel/water seperator and the fuel selector valve.

i tottaly agree......if you want clean carbs you pull them apart and clean them. any of that pour in the tank crap is wishfull thinking. and yes you fuel lines can be defective without even looking so. the inner wall can seperate and close. they say this happens from ethenol being added to gas nowdays. some gas stations have signs saying no ethenol

I ripped it apart and the center cylinder is junk. I think the cylinder was getting hot and expanding the piston.

full rebuild it is...bummer. if you can't do it yourself, it may be cheaper to find a good used motor.
