1997 Mariner 115hp where to set the tach dial

I am checking my tach settings and need to know where to set the tach dial on the back of the tach. 1997 Mariner 115hp outboard. pulses? poles? ???

12p or 6C... I think that is right. You will know when you start her up. It should read 850 - 1050 at idle.
