Just bought the motor, Haven't bought a manual yet. Motor has 123psi on starbor and
119 on port. Is that good? I dont't know a whole lot about the OIS system, more familier with the older ones, Does it have a replacable rectifer regulator or will they burn out if you disconnect the battery like the old ones. It looks as if everything is enclosed in one unit. the motor runs reaaly stong, any info would help as what I should look for or need to know. Thanks.

hello
the numbers look ok. the OIS is not that much different than the rest only it uses optics instead of magnets as a triggering device. chysler did that back in the 70's.
optics have advantages and disadvantages like everything else. YES your regulator/rectifier assy can go to smoke heaven if you connect or disconnect the battery while running. they can also overheat and create smoke if the cables are not clean and tight.
and occasionally they will just create smoke to give you an adrenalin rush :) :)

The regulator is easily replaceable, and it is very reliable, unless you do something stupid like shutting the main switch OFF or disconnecting a battery cable while the motor is running.

Replace the wing nuts on the battery with stainless steel lock washers and hex nuts tightened with a wrench. Wing nuts loosen and can cause intermittented battery connections, and regulator damage.
