1997 Johnson 9.9 no spark?

I have a Johnson 9.9 "1997" we were running the kicker for a few hours the other day and then all the sudden it died? I got home and pulled the plugs, no spark on either cylinder. Put new plugs still no spark. What do I test next? Thanks

Check the lanyard stop switch. That's the most common reason on that late model outboard for a sudden loss of spark. That'd be my first step.
