Hi guys, looking for your much appreciated help once again...the following pictures are showing the wiring harness coming out from the motor( Johnson '97, 70HP, 2 Stroke, 3-Cylinder). I know (or i'm almost sure) that Picture no.3 is the plug for trim and tilt mechanism and Picture no.4 for the starter, solenoid. What is the plug on Picture no.2 and all the loose wires on Picture no.1, that is something that i don't have a clue...can you help me???

the TNT plug will have a green-white and a blue-white and a red...usually.....

I don't think there is much different in wiring from most motors of your size. the 6 pin connector should be to the power pack, regulator and other electricals on the motor.

that diagram is for the control side of the boat harness.....it connect TO the motor on one side and TO the control on the other.... you have a 6 pin connector that is connected at the motor... I couldn't tell if your wires were from the motor harness and cut up or from the motor side of the boat harness...and cut up!!...but it doesn't look like the diagram you posted with all the extra wires for gauges....you notice the big connector has 8 pins!! that goes to a specific TACH...a systems check tach.

Bob the harness comes from the motor. I have figured out the wires for the missing 8-pin plug. 1=Purple(+12v), 2=black(GND), 3=Gray(Tach PULSE), 4=Tan w/yellow stripe (No Oil lamp on the system check gauge), 5=Tan w/black stripe (Low Oil lamp), 6=Tan w/no stripe (Hot Oil lamp), 7=Tan w/orange stripe (Check engine lamp) and 8=Tan w/blue stripe (Warning horn). Basically i have figured all the wires out and i am ready to make the installation, but i will give the universal control back and i will buy the BRP control 5006180, which is very simple to install, plus i have to buy a system check tach (maybe universal).
