1997 Force 120 Fuel Delivery Issue

Hello Everyone,
As I recently replaced fuel pump diapharm, the motor started fine but then it ran for about 3 mins then stalled and stopped running. As looked at the fuel filter, there was no fuel there. I then had to squeeze the primer bulb again, the motor started and ran fine this time. I have experienced this problem twice. Can someone please tell me what is the issue and how to go about fixing it? Many thanks in advance - anple
