Yes it says 1450 pounds or 10 so I considered that
well...if the capacity plate is like mine.....the 1450 or 10 is for people..
engine capacity is for the transom which has weight and HP limits...exceeding limits doesn't mean the transom will fail tomorrow, it just means it can cause issues later......you say the motor weights are close, so are they both 2 cycles?....
some people on here say boat police can say something....I'm sure...but if the boat doesn't have a capacity plate, what can they do?...dunno...
....I've looked at used pontoons with cracked transom's.....made me wonder....
....I swapped my '06 pontoon's 60 hp merc. 4 stroke motor for a new merc. 115 hp CT 4 stroke. The max for my boat. Very happy, no issues.....I noticed a lot more bounce when trailering over the 60.....so I use a transom saver....

boats over 20' aren't required to have a capacity plate.
make and model should be listed on the registration and the title.
