Greetings.
I have a 1997 Bayliner Jazz Jet Boat. I cannot get teh engine to spark. Just turns over and over. I thought the safety/kill switch might have a short. I got a new one and it did not help. Turning engine over well. Starter fluid even fails to spark the engine even a little.
It also beeps when I turn the ignition on!
When I am cranking the engine, the "beeping" begins and continues about every second or so. Sound coming from under the dash.

I am the 3rd Owner. I have the documentation where the new owner had a new engine installed in 2005. I was told he kept the Warranty Every Year.
-
Anyway, Can anyone help me with this problem?
I am disabled from my Military Service and can't afford a Marine shop charging me an Arm and a leg to repair it.
I pray it is something simple/inexpensive.

Thank you in advance for helping me.
I hope I get some replies.
Be Safe out there.

I am not really up on the XR motors and the 175 is usually very dependable , I would start with the standard ignition tests of the stator and trigger . I do not have specs on them , if you need them I can find them but in the mean time your first best move is to invest $25 in a shop manual for the boat/engine you have . It will list all the tests and specs you need .

I have the same boat that had the same problem. It's the computers, if one goes bad it will shut off the spark to the whole engine. There are 2, each one controls 1 half of the engine. had both mine replaced in 2010 ,runs like a champ easily goes 60mph.
Each computer ran me $550 installed.
I replaced the stater, starter, safety switch, tested and reconnected all the wires I could, sprayed the crap out of the carburetor with starter fluid..... No spark or start.
It's was the computers the whole time
