Love the site!!

Ive noticed a fair amount of oil drianing from the exhaust hole on the rear of my 1997 75 h/p force. It just seems a little much. I wounder is there something I can check or is it just normal. When I first start it there seems to be alot of fuel/oil on the water. Any sugestions?

Thanks

Hello Gjen. Welcome to Iboats. You can first start with doing a decarb on the motor. Check out the frequently asked questions forum. I prefer the sea foam deep creep method. Most NAPA stores carry this product. Also check your spark plugs first to see if they look fouled. There should be slight deposits on the contacts and slightly wet. If they foul while you run the motor at half or WOT you may be running the motor too rich. I am not sure if that motor has puddle valves. If it does clean out the system to make sure it is working properly. Also verify that you are getting a good strong spark to each of the cylinders. If you idle a lot with this motor you will have more of this unburned mix then running at high RPM.
