1997 70hp surges at 2000rpm

I have rebuilt the carbs drained cleaned and refilled the fuel and oil tanks changed the plugs checked the fuel lines checked the fuel pump vacuum it is under 3hg checked the fuel pump pressure it cycles from 3.5 to 6 psi at idle I am out of ideas :confused:

It sounds like the engine is going into SLOW, speed limiting overheat warning. The engine could be getting hot, defective heat sensor, faulty power pak.

that may be the problem when it is first started it will tach up but once it warms up it starts surges I will check it out

thanks R.johnson but that was not it took the temp switch out and tested it it checked out ok checked the thermostat and it still surges will keep at it untell I get it:cool:
