1997 7.4 MPI engine stalls on quick acceleration

Recently My engine has started stalling when I accelerate quickly. Steady run up of throttle not a problem but as soon as I accelerate quickly it will bog or stall. if it stalls, it cranks like its flooded and the only way to start is to crank first then throw the kill switch to run. It will fire up when I do that. Any ideas?? Its a fuel delivery issue I believe but dont know where to begin to look. Mechanic back logged to come look. Thanks all.

MPI engines would require the computer diagnostics in order to troubleshoot. Otherwise, you will be throwing parts at it.

Have you checked the basics, like timing, temperature? Post the serial number of the engine, as that helps with specifics. Can you reach the spec RPM at WOT? ( which is 42-4600, IIRC )

A wild guess would be ignition, not fuel.
