1997 40 hp force

I would like to jump in here if I may.<br /><br />The 40hp Force engine is known to not idle smoothly and vibrates.<br /><br />If this is something that might bother you, you might want to look for a different engine.<br /><br />TMD

The 40 horse force is a large cubic inch two cylinder set up correctly they do run nice. At idle speed they do shake a little bit but the second you punch the throttle that all goes away. in any engine the more cylinders you add the smooother it will run. thanks, bret <br /><br />If you need further assistance please email me @ forcepower01@yahoo.com.

Yeah, my 40 HP Force vibrates at idle, and I have to premix. However it starts instantly, and so far has proven to be very dependable. I am often running offshore in the ocean, so dependable becomes very important to me. I do wish the 40 HP had a pee stream so I could be sure of cooling water flow. Do the maintenance, plugs, decarb,impeller replacements, and this old technology engine should give years of trouble free service.
