Looking at this motor I noticed the timing outside detent tab is in the fully forward position. Is this normal. I dont have the required OMC analyzer to check the timing however. I just thought that this is strange. Any thoughts.
Well, you could check the max timing. I would remove the spark plugs and prop. Puther in gear, max throttle and crank her with the timing light on #1 cylinder. Max timing is 20* BTDC.
