1996 Yamaha Lower Unit Removal

Hello,<br />I would appreciate any help with the process of dropping the lower unit on my 1996 Yamaha 50 H.P. Tiller outboard. I have loosened the 4 retaining bolts, and the Anode bolt , but the unit will still not drop down. <br /><br />Thanks, Jim

Did you remove the bolt under the anode?

I don't know how its connected on the Yamaha but there has to be a shift rod connector also. My guess is that you have missed a bolt somewhere.

Thanks Captain Ken, and jimD. <br />Much to my surprise the Trim Tab bolt runs up in to the Upper casing also.<br /><br />Thanks, Jim
