Kind do new at this but here we go. At the end of last summer I bought this jet ski. It didn't run when I bought it. Cleaned the carbs and put new kits, including needle and seat, charged the battery and it ran. Starts great out of the water. Put it in the water, no so much. It is soo close in the water, I mean like if you rock it to the left and raise the exhaust out of the water it will start and idle like a champ. Why is it doing this? I just put a new starter on it this week also. Battery is fully charged, it's new out of my Harley. When it is started it runs awesome, no complaints. Compressions good, new plugs, everything looks great, except it won't start. If you get it started and turn it off in the water it won't even refire unless you rock it to the left side. Pulling the choke does absolutely nothing. It has to wide open throttle for it to refire, if it does. Put it on the trailer it will fire off just fine. I was wondering if it sounds like a low side carb issue or do I need to buy a brand new battery with the highest amperage I can find. It's very frustrating. Any help is greatly appreciated! Also I took the oiler off and now premix it at 40:1.

I think the key is that it starts right up on the trailer, but not in the water. To me, that "kinda" eliminates the electrical side, but have you measures battery voltage while cranking it over?

I think the most likely system that should be looked at is the fuel with the carbs. Do you still have the original grey tempo fuel lines? They are legendary in the 90s Seadoo jetski world of breaking down internally with green goo and clogging up the fuel and carb systems. I replaced mine!

Go back and check your compression carefully, that is a very common issue when one cylinder is real low on compression, like a blown head gasket or a warped head, I have witnessed this in the past with a sea doo that was overheated from weeds. The driver would have to get the exhaust out of the water to reduce back pressure to get it to start. also on the trailer there is no back pressure to speak of so they all start easily.

I have a 96 GSX and the Variable Trim System isn't working. I know there is a fuse to the unit but have no idea where it is. Can anybody help? Thanks
