1996 Sea Doo XP With Trailer $1400???

Ilm looking for a new toy. I love my boat but am wanting something a little faster and more reasonable for short afternoon trips. This is a nice looking SeaDoo. Its been garaged since new and is in great shape. I'm not looking for a complete steal but do want a good deal. The price seems fare but nothing to brag about. The guy says these are very fast. Anyone have one? How do they perform? How are these as far as reliability? I can afford a hundred here and there but not something I gotta dump money into constantly. Any suggestions as to what to ask and what to look for?

compression test bud! Then sea trial. After that look at the residuals like cables, motor mounts, driveline (driveline prob cost the most beside the engine). Every single part is expensive as in 100$ or more. When you have 15 of them it adds up.I got a ski for 250$ with a trailer and am into it for 1000$ and it still doesnt run. Ask him for a list of parts he has bought allready. Good luck
