Anybody know where I can get replacement dash boards for this boat?
My local marina says they can not get them anymore.

Are you looking to replace everything or just certain components?

just the dash pieces. the black backing has broken up so the gauges do not mount anymore and the outside pad is all coming unglued.

Re: 1996 Rinker Captiva 192 Dash

I just replaced mine but it is only 3 years old. Rinker had lots of stock but I'm not sure for yours. I suppose you could give their customer service department a call. You just never know. Their number is on their website. They have been really great to deal with!

Failing that, (and I'm not familiar with the layout of '96 192's) would it be possible to fabricate a new one out of a sheet of aluminum? Is it flat or is it curved (simple curve or composite curve)? If it's flat or has only one curve, you could either laminate it with decorative vinyl, powder coat it, anodize it or upholster it.

I realize it's work but doing it yourself is half the fun!! Admiring afterwards is the rest!!

I was thinking the same thing but it has pretty complex curves and angles in it. I am not sure how long they ran that dash but maybe I could put some out of a newer boat and they may fit. Sounds like I am going to have some fun with this project. Thanks for your help.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you have to pay for new dashes. It looks like up to 1999 will fit in mine.
Thanks

If memory serves me, it was less than $100......something like $75 plus shipping.

Any chance of posting some photos of the dash in question?

PS. Not to take anything away from this great board but you can inquire over at rinkerboatowners.com as well.

This is from Rinker Boats.

"We do have the Dashes that you need. The part # for the port Side is 222165BA and the cost is 618.20. The part # for the starboard side is 222165CA and the cost is 618.20. "

Wow, that is crazy. I just bought the boat and only paid 5800.00 for it. I can not see 1200.00 for two pieces of plastic with vinyl glued to it that are going to come unglued again.

If the parts you're talking about are the entire molded console sections as shown in the post above with photos, I can believe that price.

Are the molded consoles covered with upholstery or are they bare plastic? You could make a small panel (similar to your switch panel) just for the gauge section and have the console re-upholstered.

Yea, they are a black molded plastic and then upholstered with the tan vinyl. I should have checked into this issue before I bought the boat I guess. I need to get some pics of the under dash of a newer boat and maybe I could get dash panels for a newer boat that will fit in mine.
