Hello everyone, this is my first post so forgive me if it’s not good. I have a 1996 OceanPro 150 premix that I purchased 2 months ago. I’ve cleaned the carbs (partially) and replaced the fuel lines and all that stuff. Took it to the keys last week and it ran like a dream, started every time and drove my 20” Wellcraft 40 miles an hour. Upon returning, the boat started acting funny. I lost pressure to my primer ball (on fuel line) and couldn’t get up to speed for very long. In trying to fix that, I overpumped it, flooded it and eventually blew the main fuse and had to be towed in, this was this past Sunday, quite the Easter. Luckily it wasn’t a huge hassle as we were on a local lake. Anyways, I replaced the main fuse and it kept blowing every time I switched on the battery switch... so I disconnected the battery switch and it stopped. So I reconnected the battery switch and attempted to start it. All of the sudden, the motor turns, with no spark without me even turning the key. I turn on the battery switch, and 10 seconds later the motor fires but doesn’t start. Also, If I turn the ignition switch to the “on” position, it fires the engine as well, I don’t even have to go all the way to ignition. Sorry for the lengthy post, but it’s got me frustrated. I don’t understand how this could just all of the sudden happen, I didn’t adjust the wires or anything. I’ve heard it’s the ignition switch so I went in the controller and everything looks solid but I really don’t know. What do I do next? Thanks for all your help in advance!
