Is the 96' mariner 9.9 a good dependable engine?<br />I have the opporunity to purchase a couple and wonder if I should bite.

The engines themselves are great, I would be more concerned about general maintenance of the previous owner. Check the compression, spark and gear oil before purchasing.<br /><br />TMD
