Does anyone know where to get a replacement Tilt/Trim Pump/Reservoir for a 1996 Mariner 40 hp.

The motor works and the pump will work intermittently either going up or down. If you turn the relief valve out or in just 1/8 to 1/4 turn it will work fine for a while and do the same thing.

If the relief valve is screwed all the way in, it will not go in either direction.

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this problem?

Thanks

Hello MuddyBass, and :welcome: aboard.

When you say the motor and the pump work intermittently, are you referring to electrically or hydraulically?

If the motor is always working, it's just not (or appears not) pumping oil, and moving the manual valve can make it come and go, then remove the valve completely and check the condition of the 'O' rings, and look in the orifice and check there's no debris in there...
