1996 Johnson Throotle Cam Roller Sleeve

I have a 1996 Johnson 130hp outboard that has a throttle cam roller sleeve that has cracked apart. Is that an issue that can wait til the end of the season to be fixed? or should it be fixed asap. Is it something that a DIY person can fix?

It is real easy to replace. If you run without it, you may make the engine run leaner than it should. Why do you want to wait months to fix it?

Roller is about 7-8 bucks. There is a tiny o-ring on top of the pivot shaft that the roller rides on.
Pop the o-ring off, put new roller on, replace o-ring.
I recommend buying the roller and o-ring incase you break the o-ring.

Easy. And very common.

Should be upper starboard side of motor where throttle linkage connects to roller to open carbs. Of course that begs the question: "If you do not know where it is, how do you know it is bad?"

Last year when it was winterized it was noted on the work sheet.

Found it. Fixed within minutes and cost is what was stated. Thanks again for your help.
