My 96 Johnson Faststrike is losing it's prime. At first, you could keep pumping the bulb up and it would run fine. Otherwise, it would die when you take off. So I replaced the gas line and new bulb. Now the new bulb is losing it's prime. I can open the gas tank cap and the bulb will fill back up ! When you try to pump the bulb, you can hear air in the carburetor it sounds like, I'm no mechanic. Not the regular gurgling sound that you normally hear. Any ideas?

Sounds like the vent hose from the tank is clogged, bugs like to make nests where it exits the hull, found a big fat bug nest in mine, blew it out with air.

I took the vent hose loose from the tank and blew through it with no problem. Now I took the boat out and it quit running on me, won't start at all.

Check your anti siphon valve at the tank where your gas line connects.

I took the valve and tube out of the tank, blew threw it with an air compresser. Took it down to a boat repair shop and they thought it was okay. I might replace it just in case. It was a little bit hard to suck air through it. Not too bad, but a little bit hard.
