1996 johnson 9.9 outboard controls

Hey new to the forum here and was wondering on were to get a set of controls for my johnson 9.9 and if older controls would work ????? i dont need the start switch just forward /reverse and throttle

Welcome to iboats forums.

If you are asking for a 2 cycle, I have not done one of these newer motors, but since they made major changes to the shifting in 1993, I would think you would need to stay in that year range up to when they quit the 2 cycles in about 2007. As for the 4 strokes, have not seen one of those critters. And these 4 strokes were made by Suzuki.

I just converted my 1995 20 hp johnson from tiller to remote, the controls i used are from the late 70's or early 80's. As long as they are for a johnson/evinrude most controls will work.
