I just bought a pontoon boat with a 1996 (I think) 88HP, 4 cylender, 2 stroke outboard. It does not have oil injection. My question is: Waht is the proper gas/oil mixture??? The guy I bought it from said to mix a quart of 2 stroke oil to 6 gallons of gas for a 25-1 ratio. Do the experts agree???

Wow! You left the question on a forum for a whole hour with no answer? My GOD! what a bunch of jerks on here. Who cares if you don't even know the right year for the motor or use CAPITALS alot.

You might want to learn some etiquette junior, P.S.
its 50:1 not 25:1

I don't know the answer, or I would have posted. My guess is that he is wrong, as newer motors seem to take a more environmentally friendly mixure like 50:1. Something that new probably has info listed on the forum already. Did you try the search engine?

It is slow on here tonight, so it may take a few hours before anyone with the answer reads your post. I have found that if you are patient, and polite, these guys are the greatest and willing to help.

Being inpatiant and screaming at them, will get you no response, guarenteed.

Free tech support comes at a price, you have to act like a decent human being.
